About Lisa C. Taylor

Lisa C. Taylor is a poet and writer.  She is the author of five collections of poetry, most recently, Interrogation of Morning (Arlen House/Syracuse University Press, 2022) and two collections of short fiction, mostly recently, Impossibly Small Spaces (Arlen House/Syracuse University Press, 2018). In 2011, she co-authored The Other Side of Longing, with Irish poet and writer, Geraldine Mills.  Lisa’s fiction and poetry has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and she has been shortlisted in many contests. She won the Hugo House New Works Fiction Award in 2015.  In 2011, she was asked to deliver, along with Geraldine Mills, the Elizabeth Shanley Gerson lecture at University of Connecticut.  Lisa has received fellowships from the Surdna Foundation and residencies, grants and awards from Vermont Studio Center, Tyrone Guthrie Centre, Willowtail Springs, and the AAUP. She teaches creative writing classes online and facilitates workshops for children and adults on writing, creativity, and poetry. She holds an MFA in creative writing from Stonecoast/University of Southern Maine. Lisa is currently finishing a novel and a collection of linked non-fiction essays.
